Actor Matt Damon was recently interviewed on CBS about the possibility of Sarah Palin becoming president of the United States. I’m with Matt Damon. The upcoming election scares me.

I think there’s a really good chance that Barack Obama could be President. I think that’s a really scary thing. Because I don’t know anything about him. I don’t think in eight weeks I’m going to know anything about him.

I know that he was the organizer of a really, really small community. And I know that he has been a Senator for less than 150 work days. I also know that he spent most of that time running for President.

I just don’t understand. I think the pick was made for political purposes. But in terms of governance I think it’s a disaster. You don’t have to do the actuary tables, because it doesn’t matter what the chances are that Joe Biden doesn’t survive his first term. If he becomes Vice President and doesn’t survive his first term, Barack Obama won’t become President. It will already be "President Obama". 

We were just talking about this earlier and it’s like a really bad Disney movie. You know, the community organizer. “Oh, I’m just a community organizer from Illinois.” And he’s the President and he’s facing down Vladimir Putin. And he’s using the folksy stuff he learned on the community organizing corner. It’s just absurd.

It’s totally absurd and I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about how absurd it is. It’s a really terrifying possibility, the fact that we’ve gotten this far and we’re that close to this being a reality is crazy. Crazy. 

I mean does he, I really need to know if he thinks there are 57 states in his country. I really need to know if he really doesn’t know that Russia has veto power at the U.N. And I really need to know if he would actually strike terror targets in Pakistan without their permission. That’s an important - I want to know that. I really do. Because he’s going to have the nuclear codes. I need to know if he really thinks he can win Mahmoud Ahmadinejad over to the good side with his smooth community organizer speaking skills. I mean, you know, we can’t have that.
